Our mission is to advocate for students and parents when they are experiencing academic or disciplinary issues within the school system. Students and parents are not always aware of their due process and academic rights. All students should be supported by Teachers and administrators who respect them and provide them with the opportunities they are entitled to. Our mission is to support students, so they receive the instruction, and guidance they need to be academically successful. At no cost to parents, we assist them in navigating the system. Equity for all students is our ultimate goal.
Meet your advocate
CEO/Director
Dr. Lorraine H Richardson is a CEO with forty years of education experience as a
teacher, counselor and school administrator. She received her B.A. in secondary
education with a major in English and a minor in Spanish, and her MEd in Counseling
and Guidance from the University of Arizona. She earned her PhD in Counseling and
Guidance and Educational Administration, also from the University of Arizona.
Since 2016, following her retirement, Dr. Richardson has been assisting families who are having academic or
discipline conflicts in their schools. Her experience as teacher, counselor and administrator showed her
that there is a need for advocates who can help remove academic and social barriers
and connect families with resources and services, so students can achieve academic
success. Relying on her experience and knowledge as an educator, she helps students and parents navigate the educational system to ensure that students have the tools and opportunities to reach their academic goals. Parents are not always aware of their students’ rights to due process in terms of educational
opportunities and disciplinary procedures. She informs parents of these rights and
works with them to ensure teacher responsiveness and administrators’ adherence to
school and district policies regarding academic opportunities and due process
requirements in discipline procedures. Through Richardson Education Advocates she works with students and parents to provide them with the information and tools they need so their students reach their
academic goals.
